Description

In this helpful video, Stacy Minch introduces a practical solution for artists on the go: the wet panel carrier. Stacy, who often finds herself painting in various outdoor locations or different studios, shares her experiences with transporting wet paintings—a task that can be tricky and messy without the right equipment. She highlights a particular carrier from Sienna, which is designed to accommodate multiple sizes of panels, making it versatile for artists who work with different dimensions.

Stacy demonstrates how to securely place paintings inside the carrier, emphasizing that the wet sides should face outward to prevent the paintings from touching and smudging each other. The carrier she features has compartments that can hold two panels each, with the option to use an adapter for smaller sizes like 8×10 inches. This feature is especially beneficial for ensuring that paintings remain pristine, even when packed alongside other luggage or carried through challenging environments.

Additionally, Stacy has customized her carrier with extra straps, enhancing its security and portability. This video is a must-watch for any artist who travels with their art, offering essential tips on how to transport wet paintings safely and conveniently, ensuring they arrive at their destination in perfect condition.

Hi, my name is Stacey Minch. And today I'm going to show you how to transport your wet paintings from one place to another. Using a wet panel carrier. Often when I'm out painting in the mountains or in another artist studio, it's a little difficult to carry all of my painting things and a wet painting in the past. Sometimes I've just done this with a backpack on one side, but that becomes difficult when the painting accidentally flips over and lands face down in the dust or the grass. So there are many wet panel carriers on the market that you can purchase. This one is by Sienna Plane Air and they come in different sizes. So you wanna purchase the size that you work most frequently in. This one actually has the option to carry two different sizes of panels. I can carry my nine by 12 panels in the first slot here. Now, it's important when you put your painting in, it will be wet on this side that you put the wet part facing the outside. So you can fit two panels in each section, but you don't want the wet part touching each other So the face of the panel goes opposite the other one. So here I have two panels in the nine by 12 slot. This one has an adapter to carry an eight by 10 panel. So I can put that eight by 10 adapter in there and then slide my eight by 10 panel in there. And I can fit again two panels in the slot or just one. But this is really important one. if you're traveling with luggage, your painting may not be dry by the time it's time to get on the airplane. So having a wet panel carrier will enable you to be able to get on the airplane with your wet painting and not get all of your clothes covered in paint. Um It's also just important when leaving whatever location you are painting in, um, to ensure the safety of your painting on this one. I actually added the straps. This is a purse strap that I bought on Amazon and just screwed it into the wet panel carrier so that I can just put it over my shoulder and safely transport, transport my paintings home. Um, so that is a wet panel carrier. It will be very helpful for when you're painting outside on location to get your painting safely home with you.
